01-06 Septembre 2019 - The 17th European Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering
Reykjavik - Iceland - Site web

The Icelandic Geotechnical Society, IGS, is enthusiastic about organizing this great event. IGS has hosted the Nordic Geotechnical Conference and will be the host for the next, NGM-2016 in Reyk javik. However, Iceland has never hosted the European Geotechnical Conference and it is with great pleasure that we welcome you in 2019.

Iceland now enjoys increased popularity for conferences. Many major conferences have been held in the conference centre Harpa and both visitors and organizers have been very pleased with the facilities as can be seen here.

We offer our guests a venue unlike all others surrounded by inspiring nature. Iceland is one of the most geologically active locations in the world with volcanoes, lava fields, hot spots, earthquake activities, geothermal areas and glacial outburst. This has created both challenging geotechnical environment and magnificent scenery that you cannot find anywhere else in the world.

03-07 Septembre 2018 - Railways 2018 + STECH 2018 conference
Sitges, Barcelona - Spain - Site web

The deadline for abstract submission is 15th December 2017.

It is our pleasure to invite you and your colleagues to present your work at the Railways 2018 + STECH 2018 conference, which will take place in Barcelona, Spain, 3-7 September 2018:

In particular, we call your attention to the Special Session on ‘Assessment of the Behaviour of the Rail Track and Substructure: Characterisation, Modelling and Monitoring’, which we are organizing and that we expect to provide a forum to discuss the latest developments in this area. We invite you to contribute to this Special Session also.

The authors will have to submit extended abstracts (1200 words) on-line. Elsevier is organizing Railways 2018 series so, after the conference, you can submit full papers to the Journals associated to the conference, namely:
- International Journal of Railway Technology
- Computers & Structures
- Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering
- Journal of Rail Transport Planning & Management
- Computers & Fluids
- Advances in Engineering Software

The submission of an abstract to this Special Session is exactly the same as the submission of a general abstract. During the submission process you will be asked to select the session from a drop-down menu.
The deadline for abstract submission is 15th December 2017.
For more information on the submission topics, special sessions, registration, travel and accommodation, please visit the conference websites.

We look forward to welcome you in Barcelona next September.

23-26 Juin 2019 - ICONHIC2019 - 2nd International Conference on Natural Hazards & Infrastructure
Chania - GREECE - Site web

This second conference will build upon the encouragement received during  ICONHIC2016 aiming to make the extra mile towards Infrastructure Resilience. It is currently well understood that protection against extreme events is not served by the “stronger is better” principle. Apart from several scientific evidence disproving the adequacy of such a concept, building stronger structures has no impact in protecting existing infrastructure. On the contrary, the latter is asked to serve more needs stemming from the expansion of populations in urbanized regions, at a time when ageing reduces its capacity. Further to that, both the frequency and intensity of extreme natural events are augmenting....
